Tasting trip in the Lisbon area May 2019

09:00 on Tuesday 7th May 2019 Dear Members, We have been planning a trip to the Lisboa wine region for next May and need to know if you are interested in joining the group. The wine region of Lisboa is a large, diverse one. It runs up North of Lisbon flanked by the Atlantic Ocean to the West and the Tejo river to the East. Until 2009 the region was known as Estremedura. We shall be visiting nine wineries across the region from Obidos in the North to Sintra in the South. Most wineries we will visit are small family-run vineyards. We will probably be staying at Quinta dos Machados, a historic farmhouse 12 km south of Torres Vedras. It is comfortable but not 5 Star though it has a large outdoor pool, a sauna and gym. This outline itinerary is subject to confirmation.
